I was at a restaurant once and they intended to have “Humus” on the menu but they had mispelt it as “homos” – too funny that they were in the village!
Might have been a great “after bar” spot if they had emphasised their spelling mistakes!
And I can’t pass up the opportunity to share this with you about “brown paper bag specials” – my good friend Shannon always says, “faces aren’t for looking at, they are for sitting on!”
I have a recipe for the team. This is very good and VERY SWEET!
2 dozen Krispy Kreme donuts or your fav donuts (we use southern maid in Shreveport)
1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated)
2 (4.5-ounce) cans fruit cocktail (undrained)
2 eggs, beaten
1 (9-ounce) box raisins
1 pinch salt
1 or 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Butter Rum Sauce, recipe follows
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Cube donuts into a large bowl. Pour other ingredients on top of donuts and let soak for a few minutes. Mix all ingredients together until donuts have soaked up the liquid as much as possible.
Bake for about 1 hour until center has jelled. Top with Butter Rum Sauce.
Butter Rum Sauce:
1 stick butter
1 pound box confectioners’ sugar
Rum, to taste
Melt butter and slowly stir in confectioners’ sugar. Add rum and heat until bubbly. Pour over each serving of Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding.
I know, I know…we’ve been busier than most normal human beings lately…what with finals, mother’s day, and moving my ass out of one apartment and into another…but bart and i DO have a podcast date on sunday…so we should be recording then, and releasing it shortly thereafter…I’m so sorry for all the ignunce and eternally grateful to all of our fans for hanging in there…love you guys…
toodles!

OH and BTW – I miss the “captions” or what-have-you about the episodes!
Just my two-cents! Not my common sense!
